Antigen testing of close contacts who have been vaccinated – Donegal Daily

HSE today began offering antigen tests to people who are fully vaccinated and have close contact with asymptomatic Covid-19 patients.

These tests will be released for people to conduct at home.

Close contacts who are not fully vaccinated and/or symptomatic will be referred for PCR testing.

All close contacts will receive text messages from HSE regarding these two options. After the text message, the contact tracer will call, and they will check their vaccination history, symptoms, and perform PCR or antigen test referrals as needed.

Close contacts belonging to the antigen test category will receive a box of 5 antigen test products and will be required to undergo 3 tests-the first test will be performed on the day they receive the test kit, and the second test will be performed two days later , A few days after the third test twice.

HSE is using Siemens Clintest Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Test.

A spokesperson for the HSE CHO Zone 1 said: “If the antigen test is positive, we will ask close contacts to order PCR tests-as part of the booking process, they will be asked to tick their antigen test results to be positive. If a close contact is They need to self-isolate and book a PCR test when they develop symptoms during the antigen test. Those who test negative for the antigen are also required to report their negative results through the HSE website."
