FRAMINGHAM-Clinical Enterprise, Inc., a Eurofins Scientific company, today, December 13, announced that it has established a new partnership with Ginkgo Bioworks to support the expanded testing program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense.

Operation Expanded Testing provides fully federally funded COVID-19 PCR testing for K-12 public and private schools, historic black colleges and universities, daycare centers, community organizations, collective spaces, correctional facilities, and underserved communities .

The plan helps provide testing guidelines and resources for these organizations, and promotes fairness in COVID-19 testing and mitigation.

Clinical Enterprise and Eurofins' American clinical diagnostic team are pleased to work with Ginkgo Bioworks to provide these organizations with fast and reliable solutions to help detect asymptomatic infections to reduce transmission, prevent outbreaks, and protect vulnerable populations.

Throughout the pandemic, Ginkgo Bioworks supported extensive surveillance testing through its biosafety and public health work Concentric by Ginkgo.

Concentric currently provides an integrated COVID-19 testing platform for more than 220,000 people every week through its programs in K-12 schools, correctional facilities, and airports.

Concentric's participation will help organizations that have participated in the program to implement testing, and will provide opportunities to extend testing to more sites and organizations.

Ginkgo’s Chief Commercial Officer, Matthew McKnight, said: “By working with Eurofins’ incredible team, we can provide community leaders with critical information while helping keep children out of the classroom and COVID-19.” “We believe. The biosafety tools provided through this plan will support public health across the country."

To date, Clinical Enterprise has recruited schools and organizations in 26 states in the Northeast and South, as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Eurofins' clinical business is located in Framingham.
