eTrueNorth invites retail pharmacies of all sizes to receive reimbursement at pharmacies while providing consumers with free COVID-19 testing

Fort Worth, Texas, December 14, 2021/PRNewswire/ - eTrueNorth is a U.S.-based healthcare technology company available in retail pharmacies and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Increased Community Access to Testing (ICAT) program is inviting pharmacies of all sizes to participate in the turnkey COVID-19 sample collection and testing program. Participating pharmacies will be able to provide free COVID-19 testing in the local community and receive reimbursement.

eTrueNorth has conducted millions of COVID-19 tests nationwide and now welcomes independent and small chain pharmacies and national brands to join its program and receive reimbursement. Pharmacies that currently do not provide COVID-19 testing services charged through public or private insurance will be reimbursed from the ICATT program based on each result of the test.

Pharmacy appointments are listed on www.INeedaCOVID19Test.com, where individuals can schedule specimen collection appointments. Participating pharmacies will be part of the current federal government funding effort to expand the test to more than 15,000 pharmacy locations across the country.

The participating pharmacies set their own test schedule. These PCR nasal swab COVID-19 tests are observed by pharmacy staff and then transported to a certified laboratory for analysis using shipping materials provided by eTrueNorth.

JoLynn Coleman, vice president of pharmacy solutions at eTrueNorth, explained that the core of pharmacies' COVID-19 testing capabilities is to have access to a technology platform at any time that can help at every step of the process.

"ETrueNorth provides consumers with the technical infrastructure needed to register, schedule appointments, and receive test results. eTrueNorth provides free COVID-19 specimen collection kits and all transportation materials to the pharmacy," Coleman said. “Participants receive test results online in their secure accounts. The pharmacy is not tracked or maintained. In addition, the results are reported to the Ministry of Health through the AIMS/APHL platform as required. All pharmacies need to do is to comply with specimen collection and packaging samples for shipment Go to the laboratory. Then eTrueNorth will provide seamless reimbursement to the pharmacy. We let the pharmacy manage the entire process."

eTrueNorth also provides virtual training for pharmacy staff to ensure they can accurately instruct individuals on how to perform nasal swabs. The pharmacy will initially receive supplies for the collection of 200 to 300 samples, and can use a simple system to reorder supplies.

The COVID-19 testing capabilities of retail pharmacies started with big brands. Through recent federal expansion efforts, small chain stores and independent pharmacies can now be reimbursed for providing COVID-19 testing.

Coral May, co-founder and CEO of eTrueNorth, said that the federal government's expansion of testing locations provides pharmacies with a unique opportunity to expand their services to customers and develop new sources of revenue. "ETrueNorth has a proven technology infrastructure system on its www.INeedaCOVID19Test.com platform. We are very pleased to be able to provide independent and small chain pharmacies that large pharmacy chains have utilized in the past 18 months," Mei said. "We have made it easier for small pharmacies to increase the chances of testing for COVID-19 in their communities."
