Barbados has made another tweak to its national entry protocols, this time one which will affect unvaccinated travellers to the country.

Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Anton Best confirmed that the Ministry of Health and Wellness on Wednesday endorsed that from June 1, unvaccinated travellers who come to Barbados will no longer be required to complete a three-day quarantine before being allowed in the general public.

However, those visitors, unlike vaccinated tourists, will still have to provide a negative test result done at least 72 hours before arrival and also return a negative antigen test for the COVID-19 virus upon arrival into Barbados, before being granted full access on their trip.

“The additional change to the protocols we decided upon is that the unvaccinated traveller would still be required to complete a pre-site test, but will also be required to do the antigen test on arrival and then there is no three-day quarantine,” Best told the Weekend Nation. (BA)
