Some protests of the Minneapolis police killing of George Floyd turned into violent clashes with law enforcement. The city of Camden, New Jersey, has provided a stark counterexample, with police marching peacefully alongside demonstrators. People in Hong Kong will have to show a negative Covid test result to enter bars and nightclubs starting on Thursday and running through the end of the month, Health Secretary Sophia Chan said, as the city sees an increasing number of Covid infections driven by transmission at nightlife venues that only recently were allowed to reopen.

There have been six Covid clusters at the city’s bars since venues reopened, involving 350 cases, officials said at a briefing Tuesday. Patrons will be required to take a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of entering a bar or club, and must show a photo of their negative result, provide their name and disclose the date and time they took the test.
