Today, the Minnesota Department of Administration and Health announced that Minnesota has signed contracts with 11 COVID-19 testing vendors to further expand the testing network available to state and local governments and public entities, including public school districts.

Suppliers are selected through an open and competitive proposal request process. This is the standard contract process that the state follows to meet contract requirements. Each supplier has signed a contract agreement with the state, which pre-approved the supplier for visits by Minnesota government entities, and simplified access to the state’s free community testing sites, schools, homeless shelters, prisons, etc. Test service process, or collective house.

"Testing remains an important tool for Minnesota people to quickly determine if they or their family members are infected with COVID-19, so they can isolate and slow the spread of the virus," said Minnesota Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm. "We know the importance of testing as part of the COVID-19 response toolkit, and we are committed to providing Minnesota with free, low-threshold testing options. We anticipate that the demand for testing will continue into the future, and we want to ensure that we have the status of Minnesota Provide the infrastructure needed for a strong test option network."

This contracting process is a standard process within the state government and further strengthens the state’s strong and long-established testing service procurement infrastructure.

Minnesota State Administrative Commissioner Alice Roberts-Davis said: “Each supplier has been objectively measured in accordance with the same processes and standards used in all state contracts before the pandemic.” “We are proud to be able to work with MDH. Make sure to continue to maintain a diverse testing network in the state, and thank all the suppliers who applied."

The proposal request covers a variety of testing services, including: pop-up testing; testing in specific environments (for example, schools, shelters, long-term care); testing at state-run community testing sites; testing at home; ordering test kits in bulk; Processing in the testing laboratory; and testing report service. Through this contract, the types of tests that public entities can use include rapid antigen testing, nasal PCR testing, and saliva PCR testing.

Supplier applicants must meet the minimum requirements and evaluate their ability to meet the preferred functions.

The following suppliers have been selected:

Being part of this testing supplier contract does not guarantee the supplier's work, but it does simplify the contracting process. Existing contracts can last until the expiration date, so some programs may not see any changes. Some departments may have additional free testing options.
